OstroVit Omega 3-6-9 – a source of valuable unsaturated fatty acids
Omega-3 fatty acids are essential fatty acids that the human body cannot produce on its own, and therefore must be taken as part of the daily diet or, if necessary, in the form of food supplements. OstroVit uses both alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is mainly found in flaxseed oil, and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), the main sources of which are fatty sea fish.
Omega-6 fatty acids are compounds belonging to the group of essential fatty acids that are part of cell membranes. The supplement OstroVit Omega 3-6-9 uses linoleic acid (LA) derived from sunflower oil and flaxseed, which is also found in other vegetable oils, e.g.clad in grape seed oil.
Omega-9 fatty acids are unsaturated fats, the representative of which (used in the OstroVit product) is oleic acid (OA). The main source of this substance in the diet is olive oil, but oleic acid is also found in rapeseed oil, hazelnut oil, sunflower oil or flaxseed.
Vitamin E is a group of organic chemical compounds belonging to the fat-soluble vitamins, of which the highest biological activity is shown by D-alpha-tocopherol used in the preparation. In the human body, it is stored mainly in adipose tissue and in the adrenal glands. In food, it is found mainly in vegetable oils, nuts and seeds.
Properties of the ingredients contained in OstroVit Omega 3-6-9
The eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contained in the food supplement contribute to normal heart function. The beneficial effect is achieved with a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA and DHA.
Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) used in the product supports proper brain function and contributes to the maintenance of normal vision. The beneficial effect is achieved with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA.
Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and linoleic acid (LA) used in the product help maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. The beneficial effect is achieved with a daily intake of 2 g of ALA and 10 g of LA.
The supplement also contains oleic acid – it is therefore useful to know that replacing saturated fats with unsaturated fats in the diet contributes to maintaining normal blood cholesterol levels. Oleic acid is an unsaturated fat. In addition, the vitamin E used helps protect cells from oxidative stress.
WARNING: Due to the high content of fish oil, the product has a typical fishy smell.
The fish oil used in the product is obtained from Peruvian anchovies .
Recommended dosage
Take 1 serving (1 capsule) daily, preferably after a meal. Drink plenty of water.
