Omega-6 fatty acids are substances classified as essential unsaturated fatty acids and are components of cell membranes. The OstroVit Omega 3-6-9 supplement contains linoleic acid (LA) derived from sunflower and flaxseed oils. Linoleic acid is also found in other vegetable oils, such as grapeseed oil.
Omega-9 fatty acids are unsaturated fats; the representative used in the OstroVit product is oleic acid (OA). Its primary dietary source is olive oil, but oleic acid is also found in canola, hazelnut, sunflower, and flaxseed oils.

Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contribute to normal heart function. The beneficial effect is achieved with a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA and DHA.
Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and normal vision. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA.
Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels. The beneficial effect is achieved with a daily intake of 2 g of ALA. Linoleic acid (LA) contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels. The beneficial effect is achieved with a daily intake of 10 g of LA.
The product also contains oleic acid. Replacing saturated fats with unsaturated fats in the diet helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. Oleic acid is an unsaturated fat. Vitamin E helps protect cells from oxidative stress.
